Your mission :
This position is responsible for supporting and executing payroll operations and management mandates for corporate clients. Our Payroll Advisor plays a key coordinating role and contributes to the successful completion of payroll processing, analyses and identified customer needs. He/she may work as part of a team or independently on specific mandates.

Main responsibilities
- Processing the complete payroll cycle of different organizations
- Performing monthly remittance and third party payment activities
- Managing employee benefits, if required by clients
- Generating, verifying and validating payroll reports
- Collaborating with the human resources department of clients under its responsibilities in order to check the forms and documents necessary for the administration of plans such as: CNESST, unemployment insurance and group insurance
- Monitoring and complying with the various laws affecting payroll management (labor standards, taxes, etc.)
- Ensuring that processes and data entries are consistent with Canadian legislation, internal client policies and collective agreements, if applicable
- Participating in the monthly and annual fiscal year closing (journal entries, accounts reconciliation,...), if required
- Balancing and producing T4 and Relevé 1, if required
- Acting as a payroll resource for clients' employees
Profile required
- Minimum 3 years experience in full payroll cycle operation, high volume (200 employees and over)
- Payroll management experience in different Canadian provinces (rules and standards knowledge)
- Work experience in a unionized environment
- US payroll knowledge (an asset)
- Hands-on experience with more than one payroll software (Dayforce ADP WFN, UKG, Workday, Employeur D, Nethris...)
- DEC in administration or accounting (an asset)
- National Payroll Institute designation (PCP, PLP) (an asset)
- Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel : pivot table and V lookup)
- Bilingualism both oral and written (French / English)
- Skilled in communication, provides excellent customer service
- Ability to effectively manage the stress of payroll deadlines and urgent requests
- Ability to creatively solve payroll-related problems by focusing on solutions and quickly making the necessary corrections
- Excellent ability to adapt to different customer mandates, environments, processes and tools
- Strong team spirit.
