Our client, one of Canada's largest private consulting engineering firms, has a network of 15 offices. Their teams work together on projects that shape tomorrow's industry, locally, nationally and internationally. The company, which has over 1300 non-unionized employees in various provinces, is looking to fill a Payroll Technician position on its payroll team of 5 professionals. Reporting to the Paymaster, the technician will be responsible for operating the complete payroll cycle using the ADP Workforce Now system.

Main responsibilities :

• Complete payroll cycle and provide customer service.
• Ensure timely approval of timesheets.
• Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy according to the various provinces of employment across Canada.
• Reconcile remittances to various levels of government or other agencies.
• Ensure payment of salary increases and make retroactive payments as required.
• Follow up on group insurance and RRSP/DPSP premiums.
• Participate in year-end preparation and control activities.
• Make payroll entries.
• Perform salary reconciliations and expense statements.
• Participate in month-end closing with the accounting team.

Profile required :

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position
• Good written communication skills
• Asset : bilingualism (oral and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software
• Asset : knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX
