Our client, a well-known and fast-growing Quebec organization which employs some 6,600 people across Canada is looking to expand its payroll team following major acquisitions. The payroll system used is Employeur D.

Main responsibilities :

• Be able to process payroll (full cycle for an integrated portfolio of approximately 400-500 employees).
• Act as a resource person for employees, managers and other departments (human resources) for all questions relating to payroll, benefits and time management systems.
• Open/close and update employee files.
• Process various requests such as vacation pay, employment insurance claims, employee terminations, time banks and union dues deductions.
• Coordinate the management of group insurance, disability, CNESST and maternity files.
• Carry out all month-end payroll activities within deadlines.
• Complete and participate in the production of year-end reports (declaration of wages, CNESST, 1% training, etc.).

Profile required :

• Minimum of two year's experience in high-volume payroll functions (500+ employees)
• Knowledge of payroll in a unionized environment (an asset)
• DEP in accounting or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant.
• Experience with payroll and human resources systems (ideally Employer D or Nethris).
• Payroll National Institute certification, an asset.
• Very good knowledge of the Office suite (Excel: intermediate/advanced level).
• Thoroughness and rigor in the performance of work.
• Autonomous and resourceful.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Bilingualism French/English: intermediate level and above.
