Our client is a fast-growing Quebec-based company in the veterinary medicine's sector, with administrative offices in Lachine. The non-unionized organization, which employs some 600 employees based in Quebec, is looking to fill the Paymaster's position, which will report to the Finance department. In addition to actively participating in payroll management, the Paymaster will supervise a Payroll Technician and participate in the UKG implementation currently underway.

Main responsibilities :
  • Responsible for payroll processing, performing payroll preparation tasks for several companies
  • Update and apply CNESST rates, group insurance and government regulations
  • Coordinate the work of technicians and ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage employee benefits, salary reviews, bonus payments, vacation and other absences, etc.
  • Ensure application of provincial and federal wage laws, taxable benefits and compensation rules related to company policies
  • Validate the integrity of payroll processing
  • Produce reports, analyze discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with control processes in a multi-user, multi-site environment to ensure compliance and integrity of the payroll process
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvements.
Profile required :
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in full-cycle payroll operations
  • DEC in accounting or other relevant field
  • Knowledge of Nethris and UKG (an asset)
  • National Payroll Institute designation (an asset)
  • In-depth knowledge of tax measures
  • Excel skills to create and optimize processes
  • Discretion, analytical skills and ability to synthesize information
  • Resourcefulness, autonomy and ability to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and good management of priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, bilingualism (French/English) an asset
