Our client, specialized in the production of engineering resin, is looking for their next Payroll and HR Technician.

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Advisor, the incumbent is responsible for processing and executing payroll and providing technical support in the administration of employee benefits for approximately 100 employees. They also support the HR team with health and safety, staffing, administrative tasks, and internal communications.

Main Responsibilities

Payroll (approximately 1 to 2 days/week)

  • Process weekly payroll for unionized employees in accordance with the collective agreement, company policies, and applicable government regulations

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for office employees

  • Open and update employee files in the payroll systems

  • Verify working hours and absences, and make any necessary corrections

  • Reconcile and submit union dues and RRSP contributions

  • Calculate, pay, and update sick leave and vacation banks

  • Respond to payroll and benefits-related questions

Recruitment

  • Participate in writing job postings and follow up on the staffing process

  • Attend job fairs and other recruitment events

  • Assist in updating employee records

  • Support the HR Advisor in implementing the onboarding process and handling plant employee departures

  • Manage recruitment platforms

  • Archive and organize employee-related documents

Administrative

  • Prepare various internal communications

  • Support the HR Advisor in managing human resources and answering employee inquiries

  • Participate in the development of HR projects

  • Update policies as required by the department

  • Greet visitors and manage front desk responsibilities

Health and Safety

  • Assist in updating various health and safety records

  • Participate in the implementation of the health and safety committee and subcommittees

  • Support employee training and ensure the training dashboards and HRIS module are up to date
