Our client, a well-known and fast-growing Quebec real estate management company, is looking to expand its payroll team following major acquisitions. The company's real estate head office employs 200 colleagues in Brossard, who share the company's philosophy of "people for people". The company currently employs some 6800 people across Canada, and expects strong growth in the near future. Its payroll team of 10 specialists would like to welcome a new Paymaster who will report to the Payroll Manager. The payroll system used is Employer D.

Main responsibilities :
  • Supervise payroll team
  • Process confidential payroll (full cycle of an integrated portfolio)
  • Act as a resource person for all payroll-related questions to managers
  • Interact with the Human Resources department to obtain, clarify or correct information received
  • Support Payroll Technicians in the creation of reports in Employer D
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing payroll-related tasks as required
  • Replace Paymaster during her absence
  • Handle disability, CNESST maternity/paternity and group insurance files as well as : vacation pay, employment insurance claims, time bank and union dues deductions.
  • Complete and participate in the production of year-end reports (salary declarations, CNESST,  EHT, WSIB, etc.).
  • Perform all month-end activities required for payroll within deadlines
  • Participate in and coordinate the year-end process
  • Improve current payroll production and propose improvements/solutions for all sites
  • Produce annual reports taking into account bonuses and increases
  • Train new system users
Profile required :
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in high-volume payroll management
  • Experience in team supervision (an asset)
  • DEC in accounting, or any training deemed relevant to the position
  • National Payroll Institute (NPI) certification (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the unionized environment and the application of collective agreements
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of Employeur D (an important asset)
  • French/English bilingualism, both spoken and written
  • Experience with time management software, preferably Agile (Synerion) (an asset)
