Our client is a family-owned business that has been built up from generation to generation since 1945. This fast-growing organization is a Canadian leader in the distribution and manufacture of automotive and commercial lubricants. With some 200 employees across Canada, they are looking to fill the Payroll and HR Coordinator position. This person will be responsible for the complete payroll cycle, the benefits programs management and will collaborate on various projects and analyses. The head office is located in Ville St-Laurent, but the position can also be filled at the Longueuil office. The payroll system used is Ceridian Dayforce.

Main responsibilities :
  • Prepare, process and balance payroll and liaise with finance for control purposes
  • Administer payroll deductions, including those related to employee benefit programs
  • Prepare and transmit various remittances
  • Ensure year-end process
  • Open, update and manage employee files in the payroll system
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and documents
  • Prepare job terminations, records of employment, T4s and R1s in the payroll system
  • Analyze, reconcile and complete payroll entries, reports and tables
  • Manage disability files follow-up
  • Manage SST and WSIB files
  • Prepare hiring files
  • Participate in the staffing process
  • Answer employees questions regarding payroll, benefits, vacation, etc.
  • Reconcile insurance and RRSP payments, contribution notices received, etc.
  • Manage benefits (vacation, sick leave, group insurance, RRSPs, etc.)
  • Update human resources data (vacation, absenteeism, hiring, departures, etc.).
  • Participation in various human resources projects
  • Support the Human Resources and Finance Departments by preparing various analyses
Profile required :
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll management and human resources support
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce (significant asset)
  • DEC or certificate in accounting or relevant field and/or equivalent experience
  • NPI accreditation (an asset)
  • French/English bilingualism, both spoken and written
  • Proficiency in Office Suite, including Excel
  • Ability to work on several files at the same time and prioritize them
  • Good judgment and discernment

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and organizational skills
